A Comprehensive Approach to the Development of Proper Technique

Distinctive in approach, instruction at Charles River Aquatics emphasizes proper technique as a solid foundation for the development of strong, safe, efficient swimmers.

Specific skills define each instructional level in CRA’s unique approach. In this cumulative curriculum, instructors focus on achievement of these milestones in the development of technique for advancement. In-water and on-deck coaching support, small class sizes, and detailed progress notes yield individualized instruction with proven results

All CRA Instructors are provided extensive and ongoing training in the CRA approach and philosophy guaranteeing a high-quality consistent experience for students.  The positive, encouraging environment, coupled with a cumulative, tiered curriculum, fosters individual growth and achievement, motivating students to strive for excellence while emphasizing cooperation and sportsmanship, assuring swimmers achieve their goals in the water.

CRA offers small group lessons and private (one swimmer with one instructor) or semi-private lessons (two swimmers of same level/close in level with one instructor). 

*CRA staff is strongly committed to the small group teaching model.  As such, private or semi-private lessons are ONLY offered when staffing allows.  To be notified of private or semi-private lessons when available, email registrar@charlesriveraquatics.com

Private Lessons are ONLY offered when staffing allows.

LOCATION:

Teaching Pool & Competition Pool
Boston Sports Institute, 900 Worcester St., Wellesley, MA

LESSON INFORMATION:

  • 30 minutes in length
  • Teaching Pool Lessons--Instructors teach in-water and from deck
  • Competition Pool Lessons--Students must be comfortable in deep water, Instructors teach from deck
  • Ages 4--Adult
  • Spectators, including parents/guardians of youth participants, are not permitted during any instructional or team programming. 

AVAILABILITY:

CRA focuses on group instruction where small student-instructor ratios mean ample one-on-one attention.  Private lessons are offered when staffing and space allows.  Availability varies month to month.  Check the AVAILABILITY button (above) at the beginning of the month for upcoming offerings. Email registrar@charlesriveraquatics.com to join a list for notification of upcoming private lesson availability.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

  • If registering for a Semi-Private lesson, register only once, enter YES when asked if the lesson is semi-private, and add the name of the second swimmer in the "additional information" section.
  • Members of the CRA Dragons USA Swimming Swim Team may sign up for private/semi-private lessons with CRA. CRA does not offer private/semi-private lessons to members of other USA Swimming Swim Teams.
  • CRA has a strict policy regarding missed Private/Semi-Private Instructional Swim Lessons. There are no refunds, credits or make-ups for missed sessions.
