Our Journey Since 2005

Founded in Boston in 2005 with just 6 staff members and 39 students, Charles River Aquatics has grown into the premier instructional swim program in Metro Boston. What began as a single program has expanded to include private lessons, summer swim camps, competitive youth swim teams, adult programs and specialty clinics.

Today, Charles River Aquatics proudly serves more than 2,000 swimmers, providing high-quality, technique-focused aquatic instruction for all ages and abilities.

Our Facility in Wellesley, MA

In 2012, Charles River Aquatics acquired the official competition pool from the U.S. Olympic Team Trials. After a seven-year search for the right home, we opened our state-of-the-art facility at the Boston Sports Institute (BSI) in Wellesley, MA in September 2019 — more than doubling our size and expanding into the Metrowest community.

To optimize the space, we reconfigured the pool to 30 meters and added a dedicated, warmer teaching pool — though it remains the very same pool where athletes qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team.

With BSI, CRA expanded to offer instructional swim programs, summer camps, clinics, Masters and Dragons Swim Teams, lap and fitness swimming, specialty programs, swim meets, and special events.
