Charles River Aquatics

The Vision of the CRA Dragons is to, through individual education and development, advance athletes to compete on a national level while building a cohesive team and becoming one of the premier swim clubs in New England, and in the United States.

The CRA Dragons are part of a comprehensive swim program with a mission to teach, train, and motivate swimmers to excel at all levels.  The Dragons are committed to providing a safe and supportive atmosphere that fosters individual growth and achievement while emphasizing cooperation and sportsmanship, educating not just the swimmer, but the whole person.  Academic and athletic balance, community outreach and leadership are essential.

Central tenets of the CRA Dragons Philosophy:

• Managing Priorities- family, academics, swimming
• Developing Self-discipline- hard work, time management, dedication
• Demonstrating Sportsmanship- teamwork, leadership, character and integrity
• Striving for Self-improvement- goal setting and achievement
• Engaging in Competition- with self and others

The team is organized into a clear developmental pipeline of training groups —

Flare- 2^nd and 3^rd graders

Blaze- 4^th and 5^th graders

Inferno-6^th and 7^th graders

Senior Prep- 8^th graders

Senior Silver- 9^th – 12^th

Senior Gold- 9^th – 12^th

Senior Elite- 9^th – 12^th

These pathways provide a structured age/ability progression from beginner through elite senior-level swimmers. Charles River Aquatics provides a program with real competitive success and engaged coaching leadership: CRA swimmers were named to the USA Swimming Scholastic All-America Team, the club broke over 30 long- and short-course records in a single season, and our coaching staff has won several New England Swimming's Coach of the Year awards.
