CRA Clinics offer focused intensive instruction in specific skill areas.
3 HOUR INSTRUCTIONAL SWIM CLINICS
Distinctive in approach, instruction at Charles River Aquatics emphasizes proper technique as a solid foundation for the development of strong, safe, efficient swimmers.
CRA Instruction is based on the development of technical accuracy of a swimmer's movements. Skills are systematically layered as each isolated movement is committed to muscle memory. Advancement through the cumulative levels of instruction is tied to achievement of technical milestones.
In the CRA Instructional Program, students do not swim great distances during lessons to increase endurance. The focus on technique creates efficient, safe and fast swimmers.
CRA Instructional Clinics offer intensive individualized instruction and lots of fun!
CRA Instructional Clinics are Designed for

Curriculum Details:
FREESTYLE: Freestyle begins with a focus on proper body position in the water, then transitions to developing the ability to rotate evenly to both sides of the body. The clinic concludes with a focus on setting the catch with a high anchor point and properly finishing the pull.
BACKSTROKE: Backstroke continues where Freestyle left off--focused on proper body position in the water and an even rotation to both sides. Catch emphasis is on changing the arm angle upon entry into the water.
BREASTSTROKE: The goal of the Breaststroke clinic is an efficient kick, correct width on the pull, and proper stroke timing to maximize the glide.
BUTTERFLY: The Butterfly clinic focuses on the chest press and breath timing, along with developing the ability to catch the water in front of the body and then continue to pull it back through the stroke.
STARTS & TURNS: This session aims develop a powerful dive by engaging the whole body in the start and then maintaining that speed through the opening lap of the race. Turns work is designed to help athletes minimize time on the wall and maximize the push to begin the next lap at a faster pace. Participants will practice timing underwater kicking and breakout strokes from both the start and the turn.
